A COVID 19 Update from Elms Veterinary Surgery
We very much hope that you and yours are in good health and we want to assure you that we remain here to help you.
In these unprecedented times and due to the lock down as advised by our government we are obliged to carefully consider all of our movements and contacts. Our governing veterinary body, the RCVS, is advising that we are to see our clients for emergencies only during this time.
The guidance we have been given reads as follows: Animals should only be seen in emergencies or where, in the judgement of the Veterinary Surgeon, urgent assessment and/or treatment is needed in order to reduce the risk of patient deterioration to the point where it may become an emergency in the near future (i.e. within the three-week time frame currently laid out by the Government for these measures).
We, alongside everyone else in society, have to do our very best to follow advice to restrict travel to essential movement only, to adhere to social distancing, to wash our hands, to stay indoors unless we absolutely have to venture outside. This coronavirus cannot be seen, it can be carried unknown by an individual and it is very contagious. Just because someone feels healthy does not mean they are not a carrier.
To do our 'bit' we have made the following changes to the service that we are able to provide:
We are open as normal Monday to Friday 8am until 6pm and we would request that you always call us first and if necessary we will book a telephone consultation with the veterinary surgeon on duty for that day. Please be aware that this is a totally new way of consulting for us so bear with us if it's less than perfect.
We remain here for you.
We thank you for your cooperation and consideration. Stay Safe.
